Is it possible for the same racer to have similar bad luck in two consecutive races? Unfortunately, such a drama happened to Mikk Maaten in both of this year's NEZ 6 hour races. In 5 sentences, describe your racing journey.
I started my racing career at the age of 13 and just drove, without thinking about the consequences and self-development. During the five-year break, I realised that when you come back, there is no point in just racing, you have to keep working, because you have to evolve. I have not been very lucky in racing, for example the 6 h race at Botniaring [Maaten set the fastest lap of the race and set a new track record, but had to retire from the lead 11 minutes before the end of the race due to a technical problem - editor], but I count the competition organised by GSR Motorsport as my biggest success in racing, which gave my career a new lease of life. Now I can drive cars I only dreamed of, but I will never forget the BMW Cup, which has given me so much and to which I am always happy to return.
What would you recommend for a young guy just starting his racing career?
For young people, I recommend admit that I don't get on well with fast driving, then it's hope that you will make it as a racer one day.
