The Jump for Drift event, which took place at the Laitse Rallypark on 11-12.05, was just the way drifting should be. In a cloud of smoke and summer weather. For the drivers, opening the season in front of the home crowd was no easy task - some drivers lost their way or underestimated the impact of the jump on the race and found themselves in a concrete wall. But, as befits a drift, some seemingly eternally worn-out machines found new life and bodywork the next day and were back in the game. Arti Kannisto (PRO) did the biggest repair job, his car looking rather unhappy after the accident.
The final podiums looked like this:
Street
1.Kevin Luige
2.Saimon Köst(Terror Drift Team)
3.Roman Hmelevskoi
PRO-Am
1.Oliver Randalu(Randalu Drift Team)
2.Karel Piiroja(Wampiiroja Drift Team)
3.Raigo Rande(Raix Drift Team)
PRO
1.Mihkel-Norman Tults(A1M Drift Team)
2.Kristjan Klemets(Team Ghost)
3.Birger Kiirend(Kiirend Drift Team)
The next competition will take place at Kehala rallycross track on 08-09.06 and will be quite different in nature. It is only a PRO class event, which is also a stage of the Northern European Championship. It will take place on a track that has not been used for drifting before due to its dangerous nature and the great difference in altitude. However, with a little modification, the track is ready for drifting and the brave are waiting!
