Hobby class rider Kaiko Kolkanen became Estonian Superstock 600 champion in just a few years. This season you will only see him racing at the Estonian Grand Prix, but hopefully next season will be a full season again.
How do you characterise auto24ring - what are the pros and cons of the track?
auto24ring good is
fast and very fast corners, practically no straights. Bad
is that the tyres wear very quickly.
What's yours with this plans for the season?
This season I am I have to watch from the sidelines, due to lack of sponsors and time. But I will try to participate at least in the Estonian Grand Prix 2019.
Please describe 5 sentence to describe your racer journey.
Racing at I started in 2012 with a street bike in the hobby class. From there on B600 class, where I also took first place this season. In 2016 I moved on to Superstock 600 class, and in 2017 I was the Estonian Superstock Champion. In the Latvian championship, 2nd place.
What would you recommend for a young guy just starting his racing career?
For young people for the guy, I recommend starting with the bike you have at hand. Do a lot training on the go-karts and make sure the tyres are good. If if your lap time on the auto24ring is already close to 1.20, you can start to think about upgrading your bike
