Ralf Aron finished second in the opening round of the European F3 Championship and scored good points in the last race of the weekend.
The first qualifying session at the short Norisring circuit went well for Ralf Aron, who finished third. Ralf Aron, who made a very good start, moved up to second place and managed to stay there until the finish despite the attacks of his rivals. The second qualifying session, in which starting positions for Sunday's races were at stake, did not go well for any of the Prema Powerteam drivers. Aron, who started from 18th in the second race, didn't have much chance of moving up into the top ten and finished 13th.
In the third race, which was repeatedly interrupted by several accidents, Ralf Aron, who started the race from 14th place, made several good overtakes and eventually climbed up to 6th place. After three rounds, Ralf Aron is in 5th place in the points standings of the very competitive European F3 Championship with 76.5 points.
Ralf Aron: "Actually our cars were slow all weekend. In the first qualifying we were lucky that it was on a wet track and I was able to get a good result. In the opening race I managed to keep my rivals behind me after a good start, but I was actually slower than them. All the cars in our team don't have the speed on the straights and we are losing to our rivals in the slow corners. In race three I was just lucky that there were so many accidents and the safety car had to intervene several times. Now we're going to the Monza circuit for a test run and it's up to the whole team to find a solution to our problems."
