Dear car and motorsport enthusiasts
This year marks the 10th edition of the Estonian Grand Prix, the region's largest international car and motorbike circuit race, which has always attracted a large number of spectators. Correct race management, top-class racing and entertainment for every member of the family form the basis of the popular event. FeltCar Estonian Grand Prix 2024's main organiser Martin Miilberg's team has years of experience and every year manages to offer something new and interesting to the spectators.
This year marks the 120th anniversary of the founding of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the predecessor of the Estonian Automobile Association (EAL), the Estonian Automobile Club, and it is in this festive mood that we meet at the Porsche Ring. As President of the EAL, I am pleased to say that motor sport as a whole is very much alive in Estonia, with top drivers representing us with dignity in the world and a large number of young people joining the sport every year, despite the difficult economic conditions. Many young people compare their dreams with those of Ott Tänaku-Martin Järveoja, Paul Aronì, Jüri Vipsi, Hannes Soomer, Hanno Velti, Andres Arnover or our good neighbours Kalle Rovanperä and Kimi Räikkönen. That's the way it should be, because big dreams will help you get ahead!
We have a particularly good cooperation with the Finnish Automobile Association (AKK), and Henri Karjalainen, Mika Heinonen, Juha Nisula and Raimo Niemi in particular have made a great contribution to the development of transnational relations in motor racing. Of course, we also have good contacts with athletes from the other Baltic States, and more and more motorsport enthusiasts from several European countries are looking to us. This shows that we are moving in the right direction.
I wish you all a great weekend with FeltCar Estonian Grand Prix 2024.
Toivo Asmer
President of the Estonian Automobile Sport Association
