At the 2nd stage of the European F3 Championship in Hungary, Jüri Vips finished in the first place in two races and made the podium twice in the rookie class.
Motopark team rider Jüri Vips started the opening race at the Hungaroring from 10th place and quickly moved up to sixth with a good start. Passing opportunities are scarce at the Hungaroring and so Vips raced to the finish in sixth place. In the second qualifying session, which set the grid positions for the second and third races of the weekend, Vips set lap times that gave him 12th and 8th grid positions respectively for Sunday's races.

At the start of the second race, Vips had problems with the brakes, which forced him to turn off the engine for a while and so the Estonian dropped to last place, from where it was not possible to rise higher than 17th. In the fifth race, however, Jüri Vips made another excellent start and moved up from eighth to fourth. Vips then fought a fierce battle with Mick Schumacher in front of him for third place, but there was no chance of overtaking and Vips finished fourth, taking second place in the rookie classification.

Jüri Vips: "We could have done better, but in terms of points we had a decent weekend. Friday was a bit of a bad day as the car wasn't the best and I made a couple of small mistakes myself. But then we took it one step at a time, got the car better and with each session I got faster and faster. The start of the second race went a bit wrong because of the brakes. The third race went very well. I made the podium twice in the newcomers' classification, but it would have been better to finish on the podium."
